CTMH Product Spotlight – It’s all about the Bling!
By Helen | December 15, 2010
This month’s CTMH Product Spotlight Blog Hop is all about the Bling! Whether it’s Sparkles or Gems, you’ll find more ideas for how to use these fun embellishments.
If you’ve arrived here from Kristie’s blog, welcome! Now, grab a cup of your favorite beverage, sit back and enjoy the artwork.
Can sparkles be used for a masculine layout? Absolutely! This is one of the Magnifique scrapbook layouts that’s part of my Magnifique Kit of the Month. As I was creating this layout, I kept thinking…it would be perfect for showcasing photos of two of my boys, Kenneth and Robert.
You can click on the layout to see a larger image. Here are some close ups of the stamped images and blue/green sparkles.
The stamp set in the Magnifique Workshop Kit has these fabulous flowers…adding the sparkles to the middle makes them pop. Tip: When working with sparkles, I find it’s easiest to pick them up off the carrier sheet with the Piercing Tool, place them where you want, then use your finger to hold them in place while removing the Piercing Tool.
The title is the combination of handwriting and stamped letters that are cut out. The title reads “God made us BROTHERS Hearts made us FRIENDS.”
The heart gets it’s shading from a fun technique – ink the stamp in Pacifica, then…using a Sponge Dauber, gently tap around the outer edges to remove a layer of ink and you get the lighter edges.
More sparkles – I love adding a few in an arc, adds a nice touch.
Wouldn’t these flowers and hearts look adorable on cards too?

One of the things I love about being a CTMH Consultant is the ability to make a difference in the life of a child. For just $240 Operation Smile provides life changing clef palette and clef lip surgeries. A portion of every CTMH stamp set sold goes to Operation Smile. Imgaine giving a mother the gift of her child's smile - so rewarding!

Great layout. Love the stamped images and your use of sparkles. I also really liked the tip on removing some of the color to create a shaded look. I’ll have to try that.
