CTMH Autumn/Winter New Product Blog Hop

By Helen | August 14, 2013

With the new CTMH Autumn/Winter Idea Book comes a New Product Blog Hop.  I’m excited to help share some of these great new products with you.

I love CTMH’s How-To Books…and the newest, Make It From Your Heart Volume 2 is awesome!

  • 48 pages
  • 16 two-page layouts
  • 2 single page patterns
  • 12 different card patterns.
All of the layout blueprints include cutting diagrams, full-color artwork and helpful hints for creating the projects.  Most of the layouts include two artwork samples.
Softbound, lightweight and easy to carry to crops, this is a must have addition to your tool box.  Oh…and at $7.95 retail, it’s super affordable.

I have a great layout in mind using this…however, my shipment was delayed in transit and didn’t arrive in time.  So…on to plan B.  What can I do with what I have on hand?  Ah…a card!

This card features the new ProPlayer Level 2 Paper Pack, the Tech Speak stamp set and the ProPlayer Assortment.

Grab a cup of your favorite beverage, sit back and be inspired by all the projects everyone has come up with.  Follow the hop to get LOT of ideas that YOU can take and duplicate with this wonderful stamp set. If you arrived here from Michelle’s blog you’re on the right path.

Tutorial

Using the Make It From Your Heart Volume 2, cut the pieces for Pattern 23 on page 44.
Using the Foam Tool and Black ink, edge distress the edges of all papers.  Tip: Did you know the Texture Tools can be washed?  That’s right!  I like to use an empty yogurt container.  A drop of dish soap and about an inch or so of water.  Squish, squish, squish.  Then, rinse the container & the Texture Tool.  I put clear water in the container and squish the tool until the water is clear.  That way, there’s no ink hiding up by the handle.  If I need to reuse the tool again immediately, I just squeeze the tool with an old towel until the tool feels mostly dry.
Stamp the Game Controllers in Ruby on a scrap of White Daisy cardstock and cut out.  Tip: When cutting curves, turn the paper, not the scissors to get a clean edge.
Use 3D Foam Tape to attach the Pacifica square and the Game Controllers.  Tip: For the Game Controller on the right, there’s 3D Foam Tape under the edge that overhangs the Pacifica square and adhesive under the rest.  This way, the part that overhangs is supported.
Add one of the new self-adhesive Badge Buttons from the ProPlayer Assortment.
Now…how can this card be used?
  • Birthday card for a gamer
  • Invitation to come play
  • Congratulations card – especially for my son who recently got a new job :-)

Now “hop” on over to see what {Elizabeth} has created.

My oldest son saw it and his response was “Way Cool!” Then…a few minutes later, “Hey Mom, can you make me a few of those to send to my friends?” Now…to teach him how to make his own. LOL.
