CTMH November SOTM Blog Hop & Tutorial

By Helen | October 31, 2010

As November rolls around, we often pause to give Thanks for all the blessings we’ve received.  Through my 11 years as a CTMH Consultant, I’ve made many friends along the way.  I love seeing you when you come to a crop – it’s like seeing old friends again.  We share stories of what’s going on with our children.  Vacations we’ve taken.  And so much more.  I am truly blessed to have YOU in my life!

November’s Stamp of the Month: D1444 A Little Thanks is perfect for saying “thanks” in so many different ways.  You’ll get the November Stamp of the Month PLUS a stamp set of your choice*…more on that a bit later….

Grab a cup of your favorite beverage, sit back and join us on a journey of amazing things you can do with this stamp set. There are almost 70 CTMH Consultants joining in on the fun…that’s a LOT of ideas that YOU can take and duplicate with this fun stamp set. If you arrived here from Angela’s blog you’re on the right path.

Last weekend Ken and I attended the wedding of Ken’s cousin – Jack and his darling bride Beth.  They had a beautiful fall wedding, the perfect day.  Their wedding invitations were done in the same colors as the Olivia papers…and so, I created a card that would be perfect as a wedding thank you.

Tutorial follows…

If you get lost along the way…here’s the complete list of all hoppers.

Tutorial:

Start by covering a Colonial White card base with the garden style patterned paper.  Using Cocoa and a Foam Tool, lightly sponge the edges of the paper and card base.

This sentiment comes as separate pieces…but, by putting it together, you can make it look like it’s one saying!  Ink the sentiment first in Barn Red, then gently press the lower half of the letters in Cocoa ink.

Ink the flower branch first in Sunset, then gently roll the edges (just a touch) in Barn Red.

Now…to give it that “wedding” feel, I added lines.  I used a clear ruler and positioned it just in from the outer edge…really it’s like 1/16″.  Use a Barn Red Marker to draw the lines.

Using Cocoa and the Foam Tool, distress the edges of a 1.5″ x 5.5″ strip of Barn Red cardstock.  Attach on card front.

Use 3D Foam Tape to attach the sentiment panel.

Add Mocha Opaques Adhesive Gems.  Tip: Using a piercing tool makes placing theses gems a snap!

Now… ”hop” on over to my friend Kathleen’s blog to see what she’s created.
