And now…Sticky Boy may be coming to your house for the holidays! In random Plenty for Twenty orders throughout December, CTMH will add a stowaway….a free Sticky Boy! Sticky Boy is available in a variety of sizes, in his own packaging, and he’s a stamp that can’t be ordered. Let me share some history of Sticky Boy.

• In 2004, Sticky Boy appeared as the star of a video presentation at the introduction of My Acrylix stamps to the CTMH product line.  Watch the video to see all the crazy things Sticky Boy went through.  Behind the scenes: Sticky Boy was a classic from CTMH’s rubber stamp line and his name was “What’s Up?”
  

• Sticky Boy appeared at CTMH National Tours and Regional Celebrations and even wore a Tuxedo at the 2006 CTMH Convention Award Gala.
• David Lynton (who runs the warehouse and is the husband of our CEO Jeanette Lynton) got the idea to start producing and hiding Sticky Boy around any event venue we went to….it’s a crazy phenomenon…imagine thousands of women, scouring every window, mirror, sticky surface to see if they can find a Sticky Boy!  I’ve seen them hidden on a performer’s cowboy boot, the teleprompter, a water pitcher and in an elevator…alas…I’ve never been the first to spot one.
• At the 2010 CTMH Convention, David Lynton presented one to Anita Renfroe…who did a whole segment on Sticky Boy and then proceeded to tuck him into her bra where he could always be “Close To My Heart.”
• Now….Sticky Boy is hiding in random boxes from Plenty for Twenty website orders….will you get one?

Let me rewind a bit and tell you the story….

DigiPen Insititute of Technology has a unique philospophy of putting students together into project teams for a real-world work situation.  Robert’s team consisted of four students in the following roles:

• Kyle Holdwick – Producer
• Daniel Rosas – Game Designer/Composer
• Ed Kaminski – Product Manager/Artist
• Robert Onulak – Technical Director (on the far right in photo below)

Oh – look – they’re wearing their Sowlar shirts!  The mother of one of the team members does silk-screening and made them these shirts to wear.

During the planning stage, the team set a goal to have their video game put up on the DigiPen Game Gallery.  An intense, heart-throbbing video trailer gave us an early preview of Sowlar.

Hard work, long hours, dedication, perseverance to overcome obstacles and a strong desire to excel drove this team to succeed in their goal.  Sowlar earned its place in the DigiPen Game Gallery.  From the Game Gallery, you can download Sowlar to play.

Over the summer, Robert was contacted by an IndieCade representative.  DigiPen had submitted the game to IndieCade and the game was accepted!  WOW!  How exciting!  Sowlar would be showcased at a festival of independent games to be held Oct 1-4, 2009 in Culver City, CA and also the show in Europe.

As the festival approached, we learned that Sowlar was in the top 30 finalist list.  The day before IndieCade opened, Sowlar made the Top 10 list!  It was fun reading the write-up of Sowlar from Computer Graphics World.

Congratulations to Kyle, Daniel, Ed and Robert for your awesome achievement!

• Lynn Como – faith, stamina, perserverance, determination and a desire to achieve.  She inspires, teaches, coaches and has helped me through so much more than I can share here.  I feel blessed to count Lynn as one of my best friends.
• Dianne Baergen – the musical voice of an angel (she’s been truly touched by God), and the biggest heart.  A discerning spirit, the ability to calm, and mindfull of what is really important.  I am blessed that God has brought us together and that we are soul sisters.

This is the kitchen in the auditorium!  Here DVCs (Distinguished Visiting Chefs) give talks and create in front of the audience.  There are overhead cameras and large viewing screens.  The left side of the kitchen is gas and the right side is electric and induction.

 Andrew kept hoping it would SNOW…and snow it did!  Some areas of Colorado had up to 48″ of snow.  This is a view of one of the dorms.  The area to the left is a large open courtyard complete with tables and a sand volleyball court.

What do you do when you’re not in class or lab?  How about a game of pool!  Every dorm has a recreation area similar to this.  Wow…even a fireplace.

This is one of the dining halls used for dining labs.  In the dining lab, all the different disciplines come together for a complete dining experience, including table-side service.  Some of the visiting students tried their hand at making Bananas Foster.  Did you know that it originated in New Orleans?  You can read all about it and get the recipe here.

 This is one of the culinary labs.  The Vulcan stove was brought by 17 men and one large crane.  The stove is all ONE piece!  The room was then built around it.

What a pantry!  Anything and everything you could imagine, and then some.
