There’s nothing more exciting then opening a new Idea Book and seeing all the new products…wait, there is something more exciting…seeing all those new products used in fabulous artwork!  We’re celebrating the Autumn/Winter 2010 CTMH Idea Book with a bang – a New Product Blog Hop.  If you came from my friend Georgia’s blog, you’re on the right track!  If you’re just joining in…grab a cup of your favorite beverage, a notebook & pen (so you can jot down your wish list)…then, sit back and savor the eye candy!

I love cute monsters…I do…really, I do.  Maybe it’s because I have three boys?!?  Anyhow, there’s a absolutely adorable monster set that I just had to play with.  Isn’t he precious?  This also uses the new papers from the Hooligans Level 2 Paper Pack and the Pear Mini-Medley Accents Collection.

With the Autumn/Winter Idea 2010 Idea Book, CTMH is introducing 8 new colors in the Summer Pallete: Smoothie, Gypsy, Pear, Lagoon, Pacifica, Sunset, Sky and Cotton Candy.

Here are three of the new colors that I’ll be using for this project.

Using the edge of the ink pad, swipe stripes of color in small patches on a piece of Pear cardstock.

Repeat using Gypsy and Lagoon.

Now…use that for the base of the card.

All pieces are edges using Gypsy ink.

Stamp the monster using Black ink on a scrap of White Daisy cardstock.  Using a Blending Pen, pick up color from an ink pad…or squish the ink pad lid to the pad (it’s flexible so you can do this), and then pick up the ink from the lid.  Cut out the moster.  Attach to card using 3D Foam Tape.

1. I have met so many wonderful people at crops, workshops and other events.  I’ve become really good friends with many.  Now, some of us go on weekend crops together, with others we get together for lunch and still others we go on vacation together! 
2. I play with paper, stamps, scissors and glue – just like we did in kindergarten.
3. I am able to make a difference in the life of a child.  CTMH has partnered with Operation Smile.  A portion of every stamp set sold goes directly toward this amazing organization that provides surgeries for clef lip and clef palette.  I love that I’m able to help provide for these surgeries that cost just $240.  When I look at the smiling faces in my photos, I think about these children who may never smile.  To be able to help means a lot to me.
4. Creative Camp – Every new Idea Book, I’m part of a team that puts together a unit day of creative exploration.  I love that our unit is all about sharing and inspiring others.  We get together for lunch and complete artwork for workshops.  We share business tips & ideas, celebrate achievements, and have a great time.
5. I love mentoring.  Ever since I was little, I’ve been involved in mentoring of one form or another.  I was one of the mentors for a pilot program working with students in grades 6-12.  I was touched when I saw my student, who had been shy and reserved, get up on stage to share her mentoring experience.  I love helping others figure something out, or to achieve their goals.
6. I went on an incredible trip…the Mediterranean Cruise!  This was an incredible experience…being able to take my husband on an 8-day, 7-night cruise.  We flew into Barcelona a few days early to explore the sights there.  Just a few of the things we saw: the Sistine Chapel, Michaelangelo’s David, the streets of Pompeii and Mt. Etna erupting.
7. I’m earning a PhD!  Through CTMH’s Training Academy, I take online courses in my jammies.
8. National events like Convention and Leadership Conference are always exciting.  I love being in the same room with thousands of people who all love the same thing – the excitement is contagious & exhilarating.
9. Having the opportunity to teach at Convention.  I’ve been honored to have been a part of the release of the Workshops on the Go.  I also taught Fabric Stamping at Extravaganza – a variety of mini classes taught by Consultants to Consultants.  I learn so many new things that I’m inspired to come home and share.
10. I love what I do and I do what I love.  When that’s the case, it’s never work – it’s fun!

I’m sure I’ll think of many more reasons, those are my top 10.
