Moon Doggie Page Elements

By Helen | May 27, 2009

I created these page elements for a swap that I’m in with other CTMH Consultants.  The page elements we created were:

  • 1 Title Spot
  • 1 Journaling Spot
  • 1 Photo Mat
  • 2 Embellishments

I picked the Moon Doggie papers to use.  The other consultants each picked a different paper pack from the Spring and the Summer 2009 Idea Books.  This way, we get different ideas for each of the paper packs…ideas that I can then share with YOU at my workshops :-) .

Here are ALL the page elements, ready to be packaged up and shipped.

This is what one complete set looks like:

Now for the individual pieces.

For the Photo Mat, I was inspired by a card Audrey Latona shared on the CTMH Consultants Artwork BB.  She made a really cute card that looked like a hut with surfboards leaning against it.  I thought, that would make a fun Photo Mat.  To make the woodgrain background, I used Desert Sand and Bamboo reinker fluid with an old square toothbrush.  I’d tap the toothbrush in the ink and drag it across the paper.  Then, I added lines and nail heads with the 0.2 and 0.8 Black My Legacy(TM) Writers from CTMH.  For the roof, I layered three strips of Desert Sand Cardstock that had one edge sponged with Desert Sand ink – this was the side that got snipped to look like grass.  The surfboards were cut from patterned paper.

For the Title Spot, I used Cranberry Cardstock and the reverse side of one of the patterned papers from the Moon Doggie paper pack.  The Hibiscus border stamp is from one of my FAVORITE stamp sets C1356 Extreme Happiness.

The Journaling Spot is one of the Journey Journaling Spots mounted on Indian Corn Blue Cardstock and embellished with Autumn Craft Buttons tied with Natural Hemp.

One of my stamped embellishments is something that can also be used on a card.  All the stamps are from C1356 Extreme Happiness.  For the Hibiscus, I inked it first in Bamboo and then rolled the edges in Cranberry.  The center is inked in Bamboo and rolled in Desert Sand.  The leaves are stamped in Olive on the reverse side of one of the pattern papers.  The Hibiscus is popped using 3D Foam Squares.

For the last page element, I wanted something a little unexpected.  I used one of the patterned papers, the small Hibiscus stamp and remaining Journey Journaling Spots.  I used the same rolling technique for the Hibiscus.  For the leaves, I wanted to add small leaves, so I just stamped the tip of the leaf – they were the perfect touch.

I saw these on the boards. I think they’re great. I’m thinking of making some of my own (not exactly like yours since I don’t like this pp… lol). Then hopefully it’ll make scrapbooking for me go alot quicker, with all this premade stuff I’ll have!
