Scrapbook Challenge 34 from Cherish using Sweet Home

By Helen | November 22, 2009

I really love how different the Sweet Home papers can look when you combine the different patterns.  I was pleasantly surprised when I first saw this layout’s photo on my computer monitor…the Buttercup patterned paper has a “hidden” design – the white rings that look like the Indian Corn Blue pattern paper!  Let’s look at a close-up of the Buttercup paper…

In person, I see the blue circles and flowers - interesting isn’t it?

This week’s pattern comes to us from the CTMH Cherish how-to book and is the Balanced Blocks pattern on page 104.  If you like using page maps or page sketches…or, if you’ve never tried them and would like to, email me and I’ll send you a few PDF files from the different CTMH how-to books to try.

I can easily see this layout used for baby boy photos, heritage photos – imagine sepia photos on this layout, yummy!  This would be wonderful for showcasing a beautiful spring day, Easter photos and so many others.  What photos do YOU see used on this layout?

Here’s a close-up of the stamped flower…

I stamped the flower in Indian Corn Blue, then used the concentric circles and stamped that in the center using Buttercup and finished it off by adding one of the White Daisy flower brads from the White Daisy Mini-Medley Collection.

Have fun playing with this layout.  I’d love to see what you create!

  1. Post the photos on my Facebook Fan Page - you can upload them into the photo album there.
  2. Post the photos on your Facebook Wall or in your Facebook Photo Album – friend me so I can see them.  In the description, put a link to the scrapbook challenge.
  3. Post on a public blog, and link here.
  4. Post them on Splitcoaststampers (SCS).  For the keywords, please put: HOSSC34 and CTMH.

When you leave your comments, make sure you let us know where we can see YOUR creation!

If you are in one of my Get More Done scrapbook clubs, this layout can be made with the patterned papers that remain in your kit.  All I added was two sheets of White Daisy Cardstock and some scraps of White Daisy Cardstock for the stamping of the flowers.  To order any of the products used, or to find out more about joining my team, the Smile Patrol, visit my website: http://heleno.myctmh.com.

Helen, I hadn’t seen that pattern either. Love your layout.
