Scrapbook Challenge 44 using the Blues in Topstitch

By Helen | January 31, 2010

When you first look at the Topstitch papers you may think – there’s a LOT of pink!  What’s great about CTMH patterned papers is that the reverse sides are a lighter version (a percentage) of one of the colors.  In the case of Topstitch, the reverse sides are a lighter version of Chocolate and Heavenly Blue.

I have three boys and I can totally see using these papers for a family layout.  Our family loves getting together to play cards, Wii racing, and board games.  I’m also in the process of putting together a fun video for a CTMH Contest.  In the video…coming soon…I’ll show you how to do the drop-shadow title that I did on this layout.

Close up of the title – can you see the shadow?  It almost makes it look like the word “Family” is floating off the page.

Topstitch is one of the new paper themes in the Spring 2010 Idea Book.  Topstitch is the paper pack I will be featuring as my Kit of the Month for February.

For this week’s Scrapbook Challenge, I used the Main Frame – Quilt Blocks pattern from page 62 and the Front & Center – Photo Focus pattern from page 79 of the Reflections how-to book.  If you aren’t one for getting enlargements…consider taking the large photo area that’s on the Main Frame page (left-hand page) and putting four smaller photos.

Materials:

I totally love the title…I really thought at first you had stamped and cut it out (which my play group would of cussed me! lol!) and that it was the shadow from taking the picture! FABULOUS!!!! I love the main frame layout…use it lots!! :) Love your blog!
