Scrapbook Challenge 66 – Fourth of July

By Helen | July 4, 2010

Hip, Hip, Hooray – it’s a happy, happy day!  Happy 4th of July everyone!  I love the Fourth of July…the celebration of our independence & what this country is founded on.  It’s a time for friends, family & fun!  What better way to capture those memories than with a Fourth of July scrapbook layout.

This week’s Scrapbook Challenge is the Proof Preview pattern on page 22 of the Imagine How-To Book.

The Indian Corn Blue cardstock was sueded with Indian Corn Blue ink.  The Colonial White cardstock bases were stamped using Honey ink and the stars from the Ticket to Ride stamp set.  Stamp in 1st, 2nd and 3rd generation to get depth.

The Cranberry cardstock on the left page shows you the placement for the photos.  The pattern doesn’t mat these photos…I like them matted though so I cut these squares at 3 1/8″.

Did you see the This One’s for the Guys episode of Art & Soul?  In that episode, you learn that the Fancy Fuzz can be inked to get a different color – how cool!  I cut a 3″ piece of the diamond Fancy Fuzz border.

Using Indian Corn Blue ink and a Sponge Dauber, I inked, and inked, and inked the Fancy Fuzz.  Tip: Let the Fancy Fuzz dry before handling…ask me how I know ;-) .

And here it is on the page.

Using Honey ink and a Sponge Dauber completely color a small Dimensional Element Star.  I used the 0.5 My Legacy Writer in Black to hand write the word “of.”

Wishing you a very happy & blessed 4th of July!

Do you like using page maps or page sketches…email me for free sample PDFs of the CTMH How-To Books to try. And…if you’re big into card making, there are how-to books for that too!

Materials:

For those in my Get More Done Club – you can make this layout with the patterned papers that remain after completing the SIX pages for my Passages Workshop. I added one sheet of Indian Corn Blue cardstock plus two sheets of Colonial White cardstock for the bases and a scrap of Colonial White for the title.  Attend one of my Get ‘Em Done events and you can use my stamp sets to recreate this layout!

Convention 2010 – Washington, D.C. Bound! I can hardly believe that in a few short days, I’ll have a copy of the Autumn/Winter Idea Book in my hands!  Not only that…I’ll be getting brand new products, playing with them, and bringing home TONS of ideas to share with YOU!

I love Convention.  It’s such an incredible experience.  Thousands of women & men who have a passion for CTMH, paper crafting and connection come together to learn all about the new products being released in the fall.  There’s training, business and projects that we’ll make.

Is Convention something that you might be interested in attending?  Guess what…you can!  I’ll know the dates & what family-friendly city Convention will be in next.  To have the opportunity to attend, you simply need to be a CTMH Consultant and that’s oh so easy to do.  Check out information on it here.  When you’ve decided to join in on the fun & excitement, simply visit this page to sign up.

I’ll be sharing tidbits from Convention via Facebook & Twitter.  And…super exciting…CTMH will have a dedicated person tweeting and adding Facebook updates LIVE!  How cool is that?!?  You can find CTMH on Facebook & Twitter.
