Scrapbook Challenge 88 – Kenneth’s in Magazine!
By Helen | December 5, 2010
Ok – proud mommy moment – my son, Kenneth, is featured in an article in the December 2010 issue of Animation Magazine! We are incredibly proud of him. His Paper Dreams animation was one of 13 selected for the Ottawa International Animation Festival’s student showcase…no small feat since there were 2,000 entries! WOW! You can read the article here.
I just had to grab some screen shots of Paper Dreams to use on a layout….plus the magazine cover….and….ok, you get the idea. This is the Mesmerize pattern from page 34 of the Magic how-to book. I didn’t want to add a lot of embellishing or decoration to stay more in keeping with the clean, crisp lines of Kenneth’s animation.
I used 3D Foam Tape to create a pocket behind the magazine cover…
…and when you pull out the insert and open it up….voila! I folded the article using the information in Magic as a guide. I added a piece of cardstock to the top left section only. Tip: The Dutch Blue cardstock is at the very back. This is used to help “guide” the article up and over the Buttercup cardstock decorative strip. By having this, there’s nothing to get caught on the layout and it makes it easy to pull out and slide in.
Materials:
For those in my Get More Done scrapbook club, you can recreate this layout with the patterned papers that remain from doing the Magnifique scrapbook workshop. You’ll need 2 sheets of White Daisy cardstock for the bases and 1 sheet of Sky cardstock.
Do you like using page maps or page sketches…email me for free sample PDFs of the CTMH How-To Books to try. And…if you’re big into card making, there are how-to books for that too!

Friendly Reminder: During December…when you place a $20 order – any products at all – on my website, CTMH will randomly select a D-size stamp set ($22.95 value) to send your way. Oh….and Sticky Boy is hiding out in random boxes too.

Pull out some OTHER papers and see what YOU come up with using this pattern. Have fun playing with this layout. I’d love to see what you create! Now you can just link your photo here!

One of the things I love about being a CTMH Consultant is the ability to make a difference in the life of a child. For just $240 Operation Smile provides life changing clef palette and clef lip surgeries. A portion of every CTMH stamp set sold goes to Operation Smile. Imgaine giving a mother the gift of her child's smile - so rewarding!
