CTMH November SOTM Blog Hop & Tutorial
By Helen | October 31, 2011
CTMH’s November Stamp of the Month: Cherish the Day S1111 is a customizable stamp set – you stamp the month and then pick the day you want to put inside the small circle. The Idea Book shows the month stamps working with the Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge’s ticket shape…however, it works with a LOT more!
Grab a cup of your favorite beverage, sit back and join us on a journey of amazing things you can do with this stamp set. There are almost 60 CTMH Consultants joining in on the fun…that’s a LOT of ideas that YOU can take and duplicate with this fun stamp set. If you arrived here from Kathleen’s blog you’re on the right path.
As I looked at this stamp set, I thought, wouldn’t this be great for a Project 365 or Project Life album? Then, I thought…what if I used it to just highlight certain days from this past year. A little broad…so, I narrowed it down to birthdays and our anniversary.
Materials:
- CTMH Cherish the Day S1111, the November Stamp of the Month
- CTMH Typeset Workshop on the Go G1024 – stamp set and papers
- CTMH Inks in Juniper, Black and Vineyard Berry
- CTMH 3D Foam Tape Z1151
- CTMH Pleated Ribbon – Wings Level 2 Assortment Z1398
- 2 sheets of Kraft Cardstock for the bases
Tutorial follows…
For those that want to skip the tutorial “hop” on over to my friend {LeAnne} to see what she’s created.
If you get lost along the way…here’s the complete list of all hoppers.

Tutorial
This is a modified version of the Monologue pattern from the Imagine How-To Book. The pieces are cut slightly shorter than the full 12″ (either 1/2″ or 1″ shorter). Note: I was inspired by a layout in the CTMH Make It From Your Heart Gallery.
Using the Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge and Creme Brulee cardstock, cut 5 bracketed rectangles…Rctngle8 at 1.3″. Tip: This is found on page 65 of the reference book.
Stamp the months you choose in Juniper on each bracketed rectangle. Stamp the number of your choosing in Black in the open circle.
Using the Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge and Vanilla Cream cardstock, cut 1 large star and 2 small stars…Star5 at the sizes shown on the stamp set carrier sheet. Tip: This is found on page 40 of the reference book.
Using the stamp set from the Typeset Workshop on the Go Kit, stamp the large and small stars in Vineyard Berry.
Using a Foam Tool and Black ink, distress the edges of all patterned papers, the bracketed rectangles and cardstock photo mats.
Using the Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge and Black cardstock, cut 2011 using the Font Layer at 2″. Back the open area of the letters with small pieces of Creme Brulee cardstock. Tip: You can also cut the backing using the Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge…or save paper by using tiny strips!
Stamp the small star in Black directly on the base. Add the small “x” – doesn’t it look like stitching…in 3 places (lower left, center top by large star and lower right).
Using scissors, cut the stitching in the end of a piece of the Black Pleated Ribbon. Pull to release the stitching. Tie a knot in the end that was un-pleated. Attach to layout.
Now “hop” on over to my friend {LeAnne} to see what she’s created.

One of the things I love about being a CTMH Consultant is the ability to make a difference in the life of a child. For just $240 Operation Smile provides life changing clef palette and clef lip surgeries. A portion of every CTMH stamp set sold goes to Operation Smile. Imgaine giving a mother the gift of her child's smile - so rewarding!

Great layout to showcase special days of the year! I am thinking about doing a Project 12 album for 2011 (highlights of each month), and this stamp will be perfect for it.
